[She doesn't pause in her bite but she does settle the hand holding the sandwich on her lap. She takes the time chewing affords her to form her response ]

So does that mean you'll live longer? Or... I'm not sure what else that could mean.

Yeah, longer. Don't know how long yet, but longer.

[She tilts her head ] You used to seem pretty set against letting Zephyr interfere with you.

I still am, by and large. I thought about it for a good long while before I did it.

Yeah. He doesn't know the numbers, but it'll be much longer than my normal lifespan.

[devoutish]

No - not quite, no. This is one thing I'm feeling sure about. No, the uncertainty comes from living here, in the Meadous. Not going home for good.

[furgood]

Oh. That. [She takes a bite ] ...I... well I gave myself permission because it seems like no one actually misses someone. People here from my world ate taken from before or after me in the course of the war. None of us noticed there. So my sister doesn't really miss me, I'm always there. Or something. I don't know how it works really but it makes me feel better.

[devoutish]
