I grew up around cats. You get a lot of them around docks and things. Beggars and thieves the lot of them but sweethearts. I used to sneak things to them.

You belong to cats more than the other way around. I always kind of liked that.

I like the loyalty of dogs.

Creatures that would walk through fire for you - I've always liked those. You can trust a dog.

Dogs tend to love everyone unless you're cruel. But cats choose you. It makes me feel special.

[Shrug] It's silly but true. Makes me feel nice that Lady likes me.

Well, she senses those ridiculous puns of yours, I expect.

Of course, we speak the same language. We are one, she and I. Two halves of the same soul. [Wise nod] ...Don't tell my cats I said that, I'll never hear the end of it.

Ah, and that's another thing. Cats get jealous, but dogs don't.

Are you really going to pretend you're never seen a dog get upset when you pay attention to another dog? Denied, try again.

That's not jealousy, that's wanting to share in the fun.

Now you're just being contrary for the fun of it.

[This is the point where she tries to look offended but just looks amused. ] See, I'm beginning to think you just like working me up. Get me started on a subject and see how long I'll roll with it.
